Instinct quest

Your Instinct chat,
uploaded in two minutes.

Instinct lives in iMessage, so your history is on your Mac. Reps for Mac finds that one conversation, shows you what it found, and uploads it to your Reps quest when you say so.

How it works
Four steps, about two minutes.

  1. 1

    Download Reps for Mac

Open the download and drag Reps into your Applications folder.

  2. 2

    Link your phone

Open Reps on your phone and scan the code on your Mac. You can sign out any time.

  3. 3

    Allow Full Disk Access

Apple keeps Messages behind this switch. Reps reads one conversation and never changes anything.

  4. 4

    Check, then upload

See the message count and dates first. Nothing leaves your Mac until you press Upload.

Only Instinct.
Nothing else.

Questions

Why do I need a Mac?

Your iMessage history only lives on Apple devices, and a Mac is the only one where an app can read it with your permission. iPhone apps can't.

Reps can't find my Instinct chat

Turn on Messages in iCloud on your Mac (Messages → Settings → iMessage) with the same Apple Account as your iPhone. Give it a few minutes to sync, then press Look again.

Why does it need Full Disk Access?

macOS keeps your Messages history behind Full Disk Access, and there is no narrower permission. Reps uses it only to read your Instinct conversation.

How much will I earn?

The quest in the Reps app shows the reward. New conversations count; days you've already uploaded don't pay twice. You can upload again every 30 days.

Which Macs work?

Any Mac on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, with Apple silicon or Intel.

Is it safe to open?

Reps for Mac is signed by Born and notarized by Apple, so your Mac opens it like any other app.
